Bryan Kohberger is a 29-year-old man who is currently on trial for the murders of four University of Idaho students in 2022. He is charged with four counts of first-degree murder, one count of burglary, and one count of grand theft.
Bryan Kohberger Biography
Kohberger was born in Albrightsville, Pennsylvania, in 1994. He attended Pleasant Valley High School, where he was known as a quiet and shy student. He was bullied for his weight and his appearance.
After graduating from high school, Kohberger attended Northampton Community College in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. He earned an associate degree in psychology in 2018. He then attended DeSales University in Center Valley, Pennsylvania, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice in 2020. He continued his education at DeSales and earned a master’s degree in criminal justice in 2022.
In the summer of 2022, Kohberger moved to Washington state to pursue a PhD in criminology at Washington State University in Pullman. He was a teaching assistant at WSU at the time of the murders.
On November 13, 2022, four University of Idaho students were found dead in an off-campus residence in Moscow, Idaho. The victims were Kaylee Goncalves, 21; Madison Mogen, 21; Xana Kernodle, 20; and Ethan Chapin, 20. All four were stabbed to death.
Kohberger was arrested in Pennsylvania on December 30, 2022. He was extradited to Idaho and charged with the murders.
Kohberger has pleaded not guilty to all charges. His trial is currently ongoing.
Kohberger’s defense team has argued that he is innocent and that he was framed for the murders. They have pointed to evidence that suggests that another person may have been involved in the killings.
The prosecution has argued that Kohberger is guilty and that he committed the murders in a planned and deliberate manner. They have presented evidence that suggests that Kohberger had a motive for the killings and that he had the opportunity to commit them.
